Ying Lin is an artist. She was born and raised in the Hakka region of China, and is a native speaker of the Hakka language Tingbei piece of the Tingzhou accent. She uses a research-based narrative approach to show different intersections and perspectives. Her work investigates the themes of text, fragmented memory, and ritual through sculpture, painting, and audio-visual installations. Due to her dual identity as Hakka and Chinese, she inevitably maintains a high interest in reflections on violence and politics.

She holds academic degrees in fine arts (university of Art and Design Linz-B.A.) & Art in Context (berlin university of the arts-M.A.)
